Yingli Green Energy To Supply 1.5 MW Of Modules To China Mobile

Yingli Green Energy Holding Co. Ltd., a vertically integrated photovoltaic product manufacturer, says its principal operating subsidiary in China, Baoding Tianwei Yingli New Energy Resources Co. Ltd., has won a bid to supply approximately 1.5 MW of PV modules to China Mobile Communications Corp., the largest mobile phone operator in China.

The bid accounted for over 31% of China Mobile's total recent PV module procurement. Tianwei Yingli expects to enter into a definitive supply contract with China Mobile in late October or early November.

Evergreen Solar Signs Two New Sales Contracts

Evergreen Solar Inc. has signed two new long-term sales contracts totaling more than 160 MW.

The first contract is with Mainstream Energy Corp. and AEE Solar Inc., a wholesale distributor in North America, and the second contract is with one of the top-tier general trading companies in Japan. The combined contracts extend the company's total contractual backlog to more than 1 GW. Shipments under these contracts will begin in 2009 and continue through 2012.

With these contracts, the compay's Devens, Mass., facility has now sold 100% of its 160 MW manufacturing capacity from 2010 and beyond, Evergreen Solar notes.
